  • Joel Quirk, a longtime associate of the Tubman Institute, has recently published a book entitled "The Anti-Slavery Project: From the Slave Trade to Human Trafficking", which examines the the historical and cultural roots of contemporary slavery. Quirk's book explores the evolution of political opposition to slavery from the mid-eighteenth century to the present.
